Senior Finance Manager (MRPA), Education – London (Hybrid)

Role Overview

Senior Finance Manager – key business partner across Central Publishing, Commercial Development, and Global ELT publishing teams. Own investment in content processes, lead forecasting and reporting, support new business models and pricing decisions, and cover a fixed‑term maternity role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business partnering: support Central Publishing Management Office, Commercial Development, LLMB review, and Customer Publishing teams.
  • Investment in Content ownership: manage the IA process, P&L structure, financial metrics, data collection, and pipeline management.
  • Data analytics & quantitative skills: consolidate and analyze global IIC spend, forecast, and variance analysis; recommend cost control and savings reinvestment.
  • Planning & forecasting: lead indirect cost cycles, update Anaplan forecasts, create budget/forecast presentations for senior leadership, and model depreciation and amortisation.
  • Other: maintain product data accuracy, support system development, act as SAP S4 super user for Prepress and Order‑to‑Cash, and ensure robust financial reporting controls.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACMA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a strong track record.
  • Strong financial modelling, investment appraisal, P&L analysis, and business‑partnering experience.
  • Proficiency with Anaplan, SAP S4, and large datasets.
  • Experience in publishing, media, or content‑driven industries desirable.
  • Exposure to M&A or investment processes an advantage.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and clear communication of financial concepts to non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Excellent relationship‑building, influencing senior leaders, and proactive problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced, global environment.
Desirable Background

Background working with financial planning tools such as Anaplan or SAP S4; interest in systems development; experience in publishing or content industries; exposure to M&A or investment processes.
