Location: Thurso Depot, Lovers Lane, Thurso, KW14 7EQ
We are looking for a qualified mechanic or technician with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) to join our skilled engineering team and maintain a modern, diverse fleet of 16 vehicles, including single‑deck public service vehicles and coaches.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of vehicles.
- Follow scheduled maintenance plans and respond to defects.
- Perform inspections, diagnose faults, and carry out major component changes.
- Maintain accurate records of all work completed and ensure compliance with company and legal safety standards.
- Work as part of a skilled team, contributing to a positive and professional workshop environment.
- Support a 45‑hour working week with opportunities for overtime and both day and shift work options.
Qualifications and Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Valid driving licence required; PCV licence desirable.
- Proactive approach to problem‑solving and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Experience with automotive/coach maintenance preferred.
- Subject to a probationary period.
