The Opportunity

We are working with an established MEP design consultancy based in Rochester who are looking to appoint an experienced MEP BIM Coordinator to join their design team. The consultancy delivers building services design across a range of projects, with the successful candidate playing a key role in the production, coordination and management of MEP models using Revit. This is an excellent opportunity for a BIM Coordinator who enjoys working within a technical design environment and wants to develop their career within an established consultancy.

The Role

As MEP BIM Coordinator, you will work closely with the mechanical and electrical design teams to ensure models and design information are accurate, coordinated and delivered to the required standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and coordinating MEP models using Revit across a range of building services projects.
  • Coordinating mechanical and electrical services within multidisciplinary models and identifying clashes and design issues.
  • Working closely with engineers and other members of the design team to develop coordinated design solutions.
  • Carrying out model reviews and ensuring BIM information is accurate, consistent and compliant with project requirements.
  • Producing detailed drawings, layouts, schedules and other technical information from Revit models.
  • Managing model revisions, ensuring information is correctly updated and issued.
  • Liaising with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders where required.
  • Supporting the implementation and maintenance of BIM standards, processes and workflows.
  • Attending design and coordination meetings and assisting with the resolution of technical issues.
  • Providing technical support to the wider design team in relation to Revit and BIM.

Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working within an MEP / Building Services design consultancy.
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit MEP.
  • Experience coordinating mechanical and electrical building services models.
  • Good understanding of MEP systems and how they interact within a coordinated building model.
  • Experience identifying and resolving clashes and design coordination issues.
  • Knowledge of BIM processes, standards and model management.
  • Experience producing detailed drawings and technical information from Revit.
  • Good understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers and other design disciplines.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple project requirements.

A relevant qualification in Building Services Engineering, BIM, Construction or a related discipline would be advantageous.
