We're recruiting on behalf of a leading MEP Contractor looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their growing project delivery team.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging Building Services projects from pre-construction through to completion.

You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

The Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of mechanical packages across one or multiple projects.

Working closely with commercial, design and commissioning teams, you'll manage every stage of the project lifecycle while ensuring programme, quality and financial objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical installations from pre-construction through to final handover.
  • Plan and coordinate labour, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
  • Attend client, consultant and subcontractor meetings.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications and installation requirements.
  • Manage procurement schedules and monitor material deliveries.
  • Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to manage variations and project costs.
  • Monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with current regulations and project specifications.
  • Oversee commissioning activities and support project handover.
  • Produce progress reports and short-term programmes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor Project Engineers and junior members of the delivery team where appropriate.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent project management and communication skills.

You'll ideally have

  • Previous experience working for an MEP or Mechanical Contractor.
  • A strong understanding of mechanical Building Services installations.
  • Experience delivering projects from pre-construction through to completion.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs and variations.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and site management.
  • Relevant Building Services qualifications or a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
