As a Senior Software Development Engineer in our B2B division, you will be a high‑impact individual contributor and technical leader—shaping engineering standards, mentoring peers, and delivering complex solutions that directly serve our global partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end technical design and delivery of complex, ambiguous projects, partnering with stakeholders across the organization.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and engineering excellence.
- Serve as a domain expert and advocate for software design best practices, resiliency, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Guide integrations across teams within the business unit, ensuring cohesive, fully functional solutions to business problems.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend frameworks, architectural patterns, and technology choices—communicating decisions clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Establish operational excellence metrics at the team level, including testing strategies, monitoring, alerting, and SLAs.
- Identify areas of improvement in existing systems and propose scalable, non‑disruptive solutions.
- Lead communities of practice, bringing people together for shared learning and cross‑functional knowledge exchange.
- Partner with business stakeholders to ensure the team's technology decisions are clearly tied to business outcomes and organisational goals.
- Report on the status of high‑visibility projects to technical leadership through written and verbal communication.
Qualifications – Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent experience with 8+ years of software engineering experience, or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent experience with 6+ years of software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading the technical design of 3+ projects end‑to‑end.
- Experience contributing to 2+ multi‑quarter projects within decentralized, cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages or technologies, with the ability to justify choices to varied audiences.
- Experience formally mentoring at least 3 individuals.
- Proficient communication skills, with a track record of collaborating across teams with varied perspectives.
- Solid understanding of testing, monitoring, and observability tools and methodologies.
- Experience designing software that is scalable, resilient, and easily testable and observable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Contribution to the broader engineering community through blog posts, open‑source work, tech talks, or similar activities.
- Experience stepping into peer engineering management responsibilities as occasions arise.
- Knowledge of integration patterns for connecting applications, databases, and technology platforms into end‑to‑end solutions.
