Team/Role Overview
The Technology Business Analyst, with a Workday focus, acts as a seasoned professional, driving initiatives and complex problem-solving within the HR technology landscape, specifically leveraging the Workday platform. This role serves as a critical Technology Relationship Manager, bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. The incumbent will operate with a high degree of autonomy, lead workstreams, and influence decisions related to Workday implementations, enhancements, and ongoing optimization. This position requires in-depth Workday expertise, advanced analytical capabilities, and exceptional stakeholder management skills.
What you'll do:
- Strategic Workday Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex Workday initiatives, including new module implementations, system enhancements, and integrations. Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the Workday ecosystem.
- Technology Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison and strategic partner between HR business stakeholders, technology teams, and external Workday vendors. Proactively engage stakeholders to understand evolving business needs, translate them into comprehensive technical requirements, and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
- Advanced Workday Solutioning: Architect and support the implementation of advanced Workday configurations, custom reports, calculated fields, and integrations (EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors) to meet business requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve complex Workday functional and technical issues, acting as an escalation point.
- Process Optimization & Best Practices: Conduct in-depth analysis of existing HR processes within Workday, identify opportunities for optimization, and recommend innovative solutions that leverage Workday's full capabilities to enhance efficiency, user experience, and data integrity. Champion Workday best practices and governance standards.
- Project & Program Management Support: Provide business analysis and project management support for HR technology programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, adherence to timelines, and successful delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with Workday system changes, data security, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Ensure adherence to the firm's reputation and safeguarding principles, demonstrating sound ethical judgment.
What we'll need from you:
- Experience: Experience in HR Technology, Business Analysis, or Project Management, with experience in Workday HCM implementations, configurations, and support.
- Workday Expertise: Demonstrated deep functional and technical expertise across multiple Workday HCM modules (Core HR, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Payroll, Reporting).
- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of Workday integration methodologies (EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors) and advanced reporting capabilities (Custom Reports, BIRT, Calculated Fields, Dashboards).
- Project Leadership: Proven track record of leading significant Workday projects or workstreams from conception to deployment, including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, and change management.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to distil complex issues into clear, actionable solutions specific to the Workday platform.
- Communication & Influence: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and negotiate with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Certifications (Preferred): Relevant Workday certifications (Workday HCM, Reporting, Integrations) are highly preferred. Project Management (PMP) or Process Improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) certifications are a strong advantage.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) for data analysis, presentation, and process mapping.
Education: Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
