Undergraduate Industrial Placement Analytical Scientist (12 months fixed term) in Kent

This role will make an impact through the following responsibilities:

• Perform analyses related to clinical supplies, formulation development, stability and process scale up using a variety of analytical techniques.
• Process data and report to team.
• Interpret test results and contribute to team discussions with formulation and device development teams.
• Maintain relevant documentation according to cGMP documentation practices.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and investigate aberrant sample results.
• Adherence to all applicable policies and procedures, including those relating to EHS, GMP, GCP, Quality and Compliance, consistent with the role and any associated responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the grade of the role.

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills, and experiences:

• A-level or equivalent qualifications in science subjects.
• Working towards a relevant MSc or BSc degree.
• Foundation skills in analytical chemistry.
• Good understanding of modern laboratory techniques, including HPLC. Some practical experience would be helpful.
• Ability to work autonomously and be familiar with basic concepts of calculations in Analytical Chemistry.
• Ability to work flexibly across multidisciplinary lines (formulation, material sciences and device) and within a team environment.
• Organises tasks allocated by his/her supervisor and plans his/her own work to consistently achieve output of high quality results in a timely manner.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
