Our client, a fast growth media entertainment business, is looking for a sharp, driven and adaptable Finance Manager to join their finance team. You'll play a critical role in driving process improvements, managing financial operations, and partnering with the business. This is a handsâon role for someone who's comfortable with complexity, thrives in fastâpaced environments, and loves turning numbers into insight and action.
The role
- Financial Operations & Controls
- Lead and manage the endâtoâend financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll oversight, and cash management.
- Maintain and continuously improve robust financial controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Drive efficiency and accuracy across transaction processing, reconciliations, and financial data flows.
- Oversee the monthâend and yearâend close processes, ensuring all journals, accruals, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure highâquality management information is produced to support business performance and decisionâmaking.
- Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Assistant Management Accountant and Finance Assistant, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Delegate tasks effectively and review outputs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead by example, promoting collaboration and high performance within the finance function.
- Process Improvement & Systems Development
- Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance financial efficiency, scalability, and control.
- Lead the evolution of financial operations to meet the needs of a growing and changing business.
- Review existing tools and workflows, recommending automation or technology solutions where appropriate.
- Business Partnering
- Act as a finance business partner to the Events Team, providing financial insight and support across finance operations.
- Communicate financial insights in a clear and actionable way to nonâfinancial stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong background in finance operations, management accounting, and control frameworks.
- Candidates moving straight from practice with demonstratable handsâon accounting and process improvements are also encouraged to apply.
