We are seeking a Unified Communications Engineer to actively manage, support, and develop Unified Communication (UC) technologies across the business. You will contribute to the engineering and architecture disciplines by utilising your knowledge to plan, build, deploy, and support new and existing systems. You will be responsible for all technical collateral including high-level designs, standards, and incident response plans. Collaboration with other teams will be key to proactively monitor system performance, addressing and resolving any issues to ensure service availability is maintained and improved, leading to an enhanced user experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage all UC services, upgrades, changes, and service improvements, ensuring operational stability.
- Design platforms and services that are highly available and resilient to support a user base of over 10,000 users.
- Ensure all On-Premise and Cloud applications are protected and secured in line with information security standards.
- Maintain downstream products, govern updates, feature changes, and provide 3rd line support, ensuring each update is reviewed on schedule and aligns with the technology roadmap.
- Deliver all work proactively while liaising with multiple teams to drive solutions and meet deadlines.
- Present technology decisions that are supported by vendors and align with the current technology estate, outlining impact and risks.
- Manage Projects, Small Works, Service Improvements, and 3rd line BAU.
- Ensure each platform and service is correctly monitored with appropriate thresholds for KPIs and alerts.
- Manage service roadmaps, consistently reviewing growth and consumption.
- Create reporting packs to demonstrate platform health, version control, and feature management.
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience within an enterprise business in a 3rd line UC position.
- Experience managing feature changes and lifecycle management.
- Ability to manage On-Premise and Cloud platform infrastructure through design, implementation, continual service improvement, and maintenance.
- Understanding of ITIL framework and best practices.
- Knowledge of identity management and hybrid ecosystems.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- In-depth technical knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams, Cisco ESA, Mobile Device Management, and Mobile Access Management (such as Intune and Workspace One), and Message Hygiene including Filtering, EOP, and ATP.
- Experience in strategic planning and decision-making to align IT with business objectives.
- Ability to understand and deliver tasks and projects to business standards.
- Ability to work to deadlines with a pragmatic approach to administration, governance, and risk.
