We’re seeking a dynamic Director to lead our journey toward a sustainable, low‑carbon future in logistics. The role will craft a strategic roadmap to transform transportation and warehousing, set ambitious CO₂ reduction targets, and spearhead decarbonization initiatives.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategy & Roadmap Development – develop a global logistics sustainability strategy for transportation and warehousing, define CO₂ reduction targets aligned with corporate climate goals, and create a decarbonization roadmap focusing on technology adoption and operational optimization.
- Emissions Measurement & Baseline Creation – establish a baseline for Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions using recognized methodologies, collaborate with Climate/Sustainability teams for accurate data models and reporting, and implement global data collection processes and KPIs to monitor emissions.
- Decarbonization Opportunity Assessment – identify CO₂ reduction initiatives such as route optimisation, alternative fuels and warehouse energy efficiency, and conduct cost‑benefit assessments to support decision‑making.
- Procurement Partnership – integrate sustainability criteria into RFPs and contracts with logistics providers and co‑lead supplier engagement programs for CO₂ reduction.
- Implementation & Program Delivery – lead global implementation of sustainability initiatives from development to execution, and manage governance structures with Procurement, Logistics and Sustainability teams.
- Cross‑Functional Stakeholder Engagement – act as a subject‑matter expert on logistics decarbonisation, collaborate with external partners and communicate progress to executives.
Key Skills and Experience
- Over a decade of experience in global supply chain, logistics or sustainability roles.
- Expertise in designing sustainability programmes and understanding carbon drivers.
- Experience with Scope 3 emissions, GHG Protocol and carbon accounting tools.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional programmes and strong analytical skills.
- Familiarity with digital tools for logistics data and emissions measurement.
- Passion for sustainability and knowledge of global regulatory expectations.
