We are looking for an ambitious Video Director to join our London Design & Production team. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension or going permanent. This role is now available as we have acquired one of the biggest global tech brands on the planet.
The role is 2-fold; firstly to work alongside our senior creative team to ensure that our video proposals and creative treatments for the tech brand are utilising the latest and greatest in video production and social story-telling techniques. Then oversee the delivery with a production house partner to ensure the creative is carried through. Secondly, you'll be tasked with owning and leading the video creative output on our priority accounts, producing campaigns, overseeing and directing content creation and developing our team. You will also sit over a number of our beauty, lifestyle, sport and tech brands and work with the teams to deliver best in class work.
We are a tight knit team of illustrators & animators, photographers & videographers, coders & brand builders who create thumb-smashing content for some of the biggest brands in the world. You will work closely with a whole host of departmental specialists, from Insights, to Community, to Strategy to deliver transformational social-first work for our clients.
Our Conversational Creative relies on innovation, through a deep knowledge of the latest platform features and production techniques, combined with an acute understanding of what people are talking about and why it's important to them and their communities. Creatives at 1000heads are involved from the start of a brief right through to output. Ownership and passion are key at 1000heads, so we're looking for a candidate with an insatiable drive to create award winning, innovative work. You will need to be hands on when driving forward concepts and delivering campaigns.
Responsibilities- Direct and oversee the creation of high-quality video content for our brands, from concept to final delivery.
- Develop and execute creative video strategies that align with brand objectives and platform best practices.
- Lead videographers, editors, motion designers, and external production partners to produce compelling content that's fit for purpose.
- Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to craft engaging narratives tailored to different social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
- Stay ahead of social media trends and video production innovations to keep our content fresh and impactful, sharing your findings with team and wider agency on a regularly basis for inspiration.
- Ensure all video content is optimized for performance, including aspect ratios, durations, and storytelling techniques specific to each platform.
- Oversee shoots, including directing talent, working with producers to manage logistics, and ensuring high-quality execution.
- Maintain consistency in visual style and brand identity across all video content.
- Work with our team to manage budgets, production schedules, and post-production workflows to deliver on time and within scope.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
- Proven 5+ years experience as a Video Director, Creative Director (Video), or similar role within a creative or social media agency.
- A strong portfolio showcasing social-first video campaigns and storytelling expertise.
- Deep understanding of platform-specific video formats, best practices, and emerging trends.
- Hands-on experience with video production, including directing, editing etc.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Excellent storytelling and creative treatment abilities, with a keen eye for detail, pacing, and engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with brands, agencies, or clients in a commercial setting.
- Passion for social media, digital culture, and creative innovation.
