We are looking for a talented Community Director to join our Community team in London.

This will be an initial 12-month full-time contract (FTC) that can be extended or made permanent.

The 1000heads Community team is a proud, powerful collective of Social Media obsessives driven by the desire to deliver kick-ass editorial + social conversation to some of the world’s most impressive brands.

You will work closely with a whole host of departmental specialists, from Insights to Design to Strategy, to deliver transformational social-first work for our clients. From cultivating online conversation through quality-led moderation to crafting and activating the editorial vision for our clients – everything we do is delivered with a belief that fans of a brand brought together as a community can become an unstoppable force.

Role

  • Supported by our world-class Client Service team, you’ll oversee and manage some of the world’s biggest brands, from B2B technology giants to famous consumer brands across their content and community.
  • At an agency level, you will also be part of a 20+ strong Community team, reporting directly to the Group Community Director – Europe; you will power the internal team and support the over-arching management of the department where appropriate.
  • You’ll be culturally attuned and constantly challenging the team and our clients with new opportunities for innovation across industries.
  • You will be the key client contact on your accounts regarding platform, community and social media expertise.
  • The role will drive best-in-class organic social activations and campaign initiatives; from strategy to activation, you will be pivotal in driving social transformation for our clients.
  • You should be comfortable leading and joining ideation sessions, developing cutting-edge reactive and planned conversational content ideas, and briefing teams to get these from concept to completion.
  • A key element of this role is developing editorial themes, calendars and guidelines, both at the EMEA level and in the UK.
  • You’ll manage the smooth delivery of editorial calendars and the day-to-day execution of all social channels and content.
  • The role requires strategic feeding into reporting monthly, quarterly and bi-annual reports to senior stakeholders.
  • You’ll monitor conversations and create conversational connections with our excited and engaged community.
  • Your role will also see you feeding into campaign planning and responses in a strategic and activation capacity.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in social and digital marketing within an agency environment, with at least 5+ years of experience in a similar role. Management experience is essential, including leading teams and mentoring talent.
  • Deep understanding of social media trends, platform algorithms, and best practices across channels. Skilled at creating organic and paid social campaigns supporting overarching marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to bridge high-level strategy with hands-on execution. Comfortable conceptualising and implementing innovative campaigns while managing day-to-day operations and content delivery.
  • Exceptional social copywriting and editorial abilities, with experience developing editorial calendars, guidelines, and themes. Adept at optimising content for performance across formats and channels.
  • Strong familiarity with social media management tools for publishing, moderation, and analytics. Skilled at interpreting data to generate actionable insights for reporting and strategy refinement.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including cross-functional collaboration and client-facing interactions.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Culturally attuned, forward-thinking, and able to challenge teams and clients with fresh ideas and innovative opportunities across industries.
  • Enthusiastic about technology, lifestyle, and emerging cultural trends. Experience managing influencer programs and familiarity with social advertising is a plus.
  • Positive thinker with a proactive and solution-oriented approach, capable of thriving in high-pressure situations.
