Job Overview
As an Immigration Consultant working under direct supervision, you will support the team in all aspects of case processing, including reviewing and preparing forms, drafting advice emails and support letters, and assisting with the organisation and maintenance of case files.
The caseload is varied and includes high‑value private clients, VIP matters and Tech Nation‑related applications, with opportunities to assist in appeals work.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of straightforward cases and drive them to completion with precision.
- Support solicitors with the progression of more complex matters.
- Manage a portfolio of immigration matters (Global Talent, Skilled Worker, ILR, naturalisation, family migration, visit visas, administrative reviews, appeal preparation support).
- Draft and review application forms for accuracy.
- Prepare detailed initial advice to clients as directed by solicitors.
- Prepare and file applications with relevant government agencies.
- Prepare files for billing, check trust payments, and draft/review client engagement letters.
- Conduct legal research and draft or amend legal representation letters to government agencies.
- Organise incoming documents, file them in proper order, maintain electronic and paper files, and keep a structured case file.
- Track deadlines and keep up‑to‑date case plans.
- Liaise with clients, maintain high levels of service and discretion, provide status updates, and extract data accurately.
- Prepare pre‑invoice notes and update the case management system.
- Project‑manage all tasks from a client instruction, organising and planning individual contributions and administrative support to ensure a seamless process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- UK immigration law experience – ideally including private client experience.
- Understanding of immigration application filing systems with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Organised and methodical, maintaining clear case files, timelines and checklists.
- Consistent execution and discipline, following through on tasks and bringing matters to completion.
- Clear, calm, professional communication with team and clients.
- Team player who builds strong working relationships with colleagues.
- Proficient written communication skills, producing accurate emails, letters and client documentation.
- Supports the development of colleagues and shares knowledge.
- Strong numeracy skills and accurate data management.
- Legal research skills to support case work and advice preparation.
