We're recruiting on behalf of an ambitious engineering business that is investing heavily in its future growth.

This is a genuine opportunity to join at an exciting stage of the company's journey, where you'll have the autonomy to shape the role, influence future growth, and become a key part of the business.

Rather than stepping into an established territory with rigid processes, you'll have the chance to make the position your own, build long-term customer relationships, and play a significant role in expanding the company's presence within the manufacturing and engineering sector.

If you're driven, commercially minded and passionate about engineering, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

The Role

As CNC Sales Engineer, you'll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities while developing existing customer relationships across the engineering and manufacturing industry.

You'll work closely with customers to understand their machining requirements, provide technical advice, and deliver tailored engineering solutions from enquiry through to order.

This role offers a high level of autonomy and would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, solving technical challenges and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities across your designated territory.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Visit manufacturing and engineering customers to understand their requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and recommend suitable machining solutions.
  • Prepare quotations and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Manage projects from initial enquiry through to completion.
  • Work closely with internal engineering and production teams.
  • Achieve agreed sales and business development targets.
  • Maintain an organised sales pipeline and CRM records.
  • Represent the business professionally at customer meetings and industry events.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong engineering knowledge with excellent communication skills.

  • You’ll Ideally Have
  • Previous experience within CNC machining, manufacturing or precision engineering.
  • Experience in technical sales, applications engineering, account management or business development, or a desire to move into a customer-facing sales role.
  • A strong understanding of CNC machining processes.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • What's On Offer
  • Uncapped Commission Structure
  • Potential Company Car or Car Allowance
  • Pension Scheme
  • Holiday Allowance plus Bank Holidays
  • Laptop and Mobile Phone
  • Ongoing Training and Product Development
  • Genuine Career Progression
  • The opportunity to help shape and grow a developing sales function
  • A supportive management team that values initiative and new ideas

Why This Role?

This isn't just another Sales Engineer position.

It's an opportunity to join a growing engineering business where your ideas, relationships and results will genuinely make a difference.

You'll have the freedom to build your own customer base, influence the direction of the role, and establish yourself as a key member of the team.

If you're looking for the next step in your career and want to be part of a business with exciting ambitions for the future, we'd love to hear from you
