The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with experience using Siemens 828D or 840D controls to join a well-established precision engineering business on a permanent, day shift basis. This is a hands-on position working within a high-quality manufacturing environment, responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machinery to produce precision components in line with engineering drawings and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Full machine setup including tooling and workholding
- First-off inspection of machined components
- Editing and proving out programmes at the machine
- Working independently from engineering drawings
- Maintaining housekeeping and job booking standards
- Working in line with ISO9001 quality procedures
Minimum Requirements
- 3–5 years CNC Milling experience
- Experience with Siemens conversational and ISO programming
- Experience machining steels, cast iron and stainless steel
- Ability to use standard inspection equipment
- Experience working from engineering drawings
Desirable Experience
- 4 or 5-axis milling experience
- Experience machining complex castings
- Experience creating or modifying CAM programmes (Fusion 360)
- Experience creating setup sheets and organising tooling
