The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with experience using Siemens 828D or 840D controls to join a well-established precision engineering business on a permanent, day shift basis. This is a hands-on position working within a high-quality manufacturing environment, responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machinery to produce precision components in line with engineering drawings and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full machine setup including tooling and workholding
  • First-off inspection of machined components
  • Editing and proving out programmes at the machine
  • Working independently from engineering drawings
  • Maintaining housekeeping and job booking standards
  • Working in line with ISO9001 quality procedures

Minimum Requirements

  • 3–5 years CNC Milling experience
  • Experience with Siemens conversational and ISO programming
  • Experience machining steels, cast iron and stainless steel
  • Ability to use standard inspection equipment
  • Experience working from engineering drawings

Desirable Experience

  • 4 or 5-axis milling experience
  • Experience machining complex castings
  • Experience creating or modifying CAM programmes (Fusion 360)
  • Experience creating setup sheets and organising tooling
