As a Lifecycle Support Consultant, you will support complex Aerospace and Defence programmes, including MOD engagements focused on reliability and failure modelling, cost modelling, spares forecasting, and statistical analysis. Working within a specialist and well-established team, you will deliver end-to-end IPS initiatives and build experience across a broad range of projects on some of the most technically advanced military land, air, sea, and autonomous platforms. This role can be based out of our Chippenham, Southampton, Leatherhead, or Lincoln. Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Engineering programmes to ensure support requirements are delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality.
  • Perform detailed analytic studies under the direction of the IPS Manager to ensure that the support systems being developed meet or exceed the specified Reliability, Maintenance and Supportability requirements, recommending design changes as appropriate.
  • Design and implement IPS projects including AR & M portionment, Supportability Analysis (SA), Through Life Cost modelling, FMECAs, Fault Tree Analysis, and Codification.
  • Develop and manage all the Element Plans.
  • Support bids and proposals.
  • Provide reports on productivity and other performance indicators to the IPS Manager.
  • Conduct peer reviews of the IPS Capability Group’s outputs.
  • Assist the IPS Manager with augmenting the IPS capability to meet new and emerging market demands.
  • Develop innovation initiatives to support future growth.

Experience and Qualifications

  • At least two years post graduate commercial experience in an Engineering capacity, with a preferable focus on failure analysis, cost modelling or reliability modelling.
  • Ability to engage with clients with confidence and build trust and credibility.
  • A level in Maths or a Science.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BEng or MEng), preferable Mechanical.
  • Sector experience in either Defence, Energy, Oil/Gas, Marine, Aviation or Transport would be an advantage.
  • Some Availability, Reliability and Maintainability (AR & M) analysis experience.
  • Knowledge of IPS defence standards (including Def Stan 00-600, DLF (JSP886), Def Stan 00-40 series) preferable, but not pre-requisite.
  • Working knowledge of design engineering methods and processes (systems engineering).
  • Due to sensitivity of the work RINA delivers, you will either have existing Security Clearance, or must be a British citizen, willing to undertake the vetting process.
