Are you an experienced Quarry Operator, Fixed Plant Operator or Process Operator or have previously worked as part of a mobile crushing or screening/processing team? Are you looking to secure a full‑time stable job within the Perth Metro area? Heidelberg Materials is looking to hire multiple process and mobile plant operators as it seeks to increase output at one of its major Perth Hardrock quarrying operations.

About the site: Located 4 km south of Byford, accessible from both Rockingham and Mandurah. Byford Quarry has been supplying crushed hard rock building materials into the Perth market for over half a century, with operations projected to extend for a further 75 years.

About the role: Based at Byford Quarry. 330pm start and 10+ hr shifts. Carry out safely the day‑to‑day operations of mobile plant and other various duties around the quarry. Perform general labour or maintenance activities around the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor crushing plant and associated machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct routine plant inspections and preventative maintenance works.
  • Assist with plant set‑up, calibration, and shutdown procedures.
  • Mobile plant operation supporting hard rock processing operations – loader, articulated haul truck, skid steer – with opportunities to operate or progress onto other mining equipment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience in fixed plant process operations, fixed or mobile crushing operations or other screening or mineral processing operations is highly regarded.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a proactive attitude toward plant maintenance.
  • Competence in operating mobile plant and equipment will be highly regarded (e.g. loaders, excavators & dump trucks).
  • Additional training can be provided for the right candidates.
  • Positive can‑do attitude is a must.
