Job Overview
We are hiring a Claims Examiner in our Manchester office to investigate, evaluate and manage insurance claims, delivering timely, cost‑effective outcomes for our customers and partners.
Responsibilities
- Review policy coverage, determine liability and compensability, and make informed coverage decisions.
- Manage claim lifecycles, set reserves, authorise payments and drive efficient, cost‑effective settlements.
- Gather and assess information from insureds, claimants, witnesses and external experts to support claim decisions.
- Build strong relationships with brokers, legal counsel, underwriters, account representatives and insureds to achieve successful claim outcomes.
- Maintain accurate claims data, provide management reporting and ensure adherence to regulatory and legal requirements.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of insurance claims handling practices and principles within a commercial insurance environment.
- Strong negotiation skills to achieve fair, commercially sound settlements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, confident engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical thinking with strong problem‑solving capability, sound judgement and excellent attention to detail.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ECF and/or CLASS systems is advantageous.
