We are seeking a Senior Compensation & Benefits Consultant, based in our London office and reporting to the Director of HR Operations. The role is accountable for the technical and commercial delivery of the company's compensation and benefits frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, employment legislation and internal control standards. The role supports multiple geographies across Europe, including the UK, France, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium. Working in a matrix environment, the role partners with stakeholders across HR, Finance and the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compensation
    • Maintain the CNA Hardy Willis Towers Watson (WTW) job architecture and benchmarking framework, including scoring and leveling roles consistently.
    • Manage internal compensation data accurately and on time.
    • Submit annual salary data to WTW.
    • Analyse WTW outputs and develop market‐reflective salary bands.
    • Maintain job family and career framework structures.
    • Produce compensation data and insights for the wider HR team.
    • Maintain compensation data in Workday, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
    • Lead the annual reward cycle, including policy review, mandatory indexation and collective bargaining agreement (CBA) updates where applicable.
    • Design and manage financial retention schemes, partnering with Finance and local stakeholders as required.
    • Administer local incentive compensation plans, ensuring consistent governance and documentation, including compliance with European Collective Bargaining Agreements.
    • Monitor market trends and emerging compensation themes to inform policy and decision‐making.
    • Coordinate equal pay reporting and analysis.
    • Coordinate Gender Pay Gap reporting and narrative.
    • Support implementation of European pay transparency requirements, including stakeholder education and change adoption.
    • Track compensation‐related legislative changes across countries and ensure appropriate local implementation.
    • Produce internal compensation reporting, dashboards and metrics as required.
    • Assist the Director of HR Operations in monitoring and managing compensation and benefit budgets and administration.
  • Benefits
    • Provide effective oversight and administration of CNA Hardy's benefits programmes, ensuring compliance with local regulatory, legal and company control frameworks.
    • Project manage the annual benefits enrolment and renewal cycles across Europe, including benefit self‐selection in Darwin.
    • Work with the Payroll Operations Lead to verify and transfer data accurately and support the resolution of benefit‐related payroll queries and discrepancies.
    • Ensure benefit offering is in line with European Collective Bargaining Agreements.
    • Maintain accurate benefits records and documentation.
  • Additional Duties
    • Project work and audits as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience within a Compensation Centre of Expertise.
  • UK experience essential; European experience beneficial.
  • Expertise in both compensation and benefits.
  • Experience in London Insurance market and Lloyds syndicate compensation principles.
  • Solid knowledge of compensation and benefit principles, employment law and market best practice.
  • Background in commercial insurance.
  • Expertise in delivery of complex compensation processes and cycles.
  • Experience with WTWGGF framework and benchmarking tools.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding of Workday or similar HRIS, specifically used for compensation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and regions.
  • Excel and data manipulation skills to advanced level.
