Position: Accounting Manager – London Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the timely and accurate production of monthly, quarterly and annual underwriting results across premiums, claims, reserves and acquisition costs.
- Manage and continuously improve the end‑to‑end month‑end accounting process, ensuring strong controls and efficient delivery.
- Oversee reconciliations and technical balance controls, ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Lead, develop and motivate a small team of accountants, driving high performance and collaboration.
- Partner with FP&A, actuarial, reinsurance and regulatory teams, as well as auditors and head office, to deliver accurate financial insights and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of insurance accounting, including Lloyd’s and company market principles.
- Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams.
- Analytical strength – ability to interpret complex datasets and solve problems effectively.
- Advanced Excel skills; exposure to Alteryx, SQL or financial platforms is advantageous.
