About the Role

Checkout.com is on a mission to transform the shopping experience for millions of consumers. As a senior individual contributor in mobile, you’ll help design and build the products we put in the hands of our end users. Working hand‑in‑hand with our engineering team and product leaders, you’ll craft high‑performance, user‑friendly experiences that operate at scale. Your role will extend beyond writing code – you’ll define architecture, lead technical discovery, and help build the foundations that underpin our consumer offering.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build mobile experiences used directly by millions of consumers worldwide.
  • Own feature development end‑to‑end, from discovery through to development and ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with backend teams to ensure underlying systems support mobile product evolution.
  • Champion best practices across the technical domain (testing, monitoring, release strategy, etc.) to strengthen our foundations.
  • Mentor peers, review code, and contribute to the long‑term technical vision for mobile development.

Qualifications

  • Solid background in React Native, building scalable and highly performant consumer experiences.
  • Proven track record building across the mobile domain (e.g., experience with native iOS and Android).
  • Experience building and maintaining mobile apps or SDKs used by a large, active user base.
  • Passionate about developer experience – clear APIs, great docs, and reliability at scale.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with product, design, and backend peers.
