About the Role

Checkout. com is looking for a driven Associate to become a core member of our Safeguarding Policy and Client Assets team.

This role is crucial for developing and strengthening our global safeguarding capabilities.

  • Key Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the financial services sector, specifically in treasury, finance, regulatory, legal, or risk management.
  • Regulatory expertise: ability to interpret and implement complex regulations and rules, and strong understanding of compliance frameworks.
  • Treasury knowledge: solid grasp of treasury concepts including cash management and FX, along with associated risks and controls.
  • Project ownership: proven experience in owning and delivering challenging project initiatives with a high degree of independence.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills: strong communication and influencing skills, able to build and leverage effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Preferred: experience with financial safeguarding, particularly CASS 7, and previous work at an EMI or PSP.

Your Role

What you will be doing

  • Embed the global safeguarding framework and associated policies across the organization.
  • Contribute to the effective integration of CASS 15 and the global safeguarding framework.
  • Oversee the daily monitoring of safeguarding compliance.
  • Develop and enhance calculation and reporting methodologies to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and communicate escalations, management information, and project updates to senior leadership and committees.
  • Track and lead remediation actions and projects to completion.
  • Own and manage the global safeguarding breaches process.
  • Develop and enhance safeguarding-related processes and controls in collaboration with treasury teams, ensuring policy compliance and supporting audit requirements.
  • Conduct analysis to assess fund flow models and treasury impacts, providing recommendations that align with safeguarding needs and business objectives.
  • Provide direct support to the Safeguarding Policy team lead on all safeguarding matters.
  • Support and, when appropriate, lead external and internal audits of safeguarding functions globally.
  • Participate in broader strategic global expansion and regulatory initiatives within the treasury space.
