You will serve as a Legal Counsel on the Employment Legal team, advising on the full spectrum of employment law matters across the company’s global operations. Working closely with People and other stakeholders, you will provide guidance in the UK, EMEA, APAC and the Americas and lead advice in multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on hiring, contractual issues, policies, compensation and benefits (including employee share schemes), HR compliance and restrictive covenants.
  • Handle performance management, misconduct investigations, employee relations, terminations and employment litigation.
  • Develop processes and templates to address employment issues, leveraging AI tools where appropriate.
  • Collaborate on global employment law projects and consult with external counsel as required.
Essential Qualifications
  • UK qualified lawyer with 4+ years PQE as an employment lawyer (Senior Legal Counsel level welcome).
  • Experience as in‑house employment counsel in a global business.
  • Knowledge of employment law in other jurisdictions operated by Checkout.com; French or Americas (US, Mexico, Brazil, Canada) experience is a particular benefit.
  • Strong background in high‑growth technology or fast‑paced environments.
  • Exceptional analytical, writing and risk‑focused advice skills.
  • Excellent time‑management and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Systemic thinker with proven process‑improvement and AI use.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, continuous change and a fast‑paced culture.

Permanent, full‑time position based in London. Hybrid working policy requires in‑office attendance three days a week.
