We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to be a leader in the design, building, and maintenance of our core systems. Specifically, you will be responsible for:
- Building and maintaining high-volume, low-latency APIs for enterprise grade data processing systems
Location: London, UK. Our office is located near London Bridge and we like to work in person.
Comp: Total compensation for this role starts at £150k.
Visas: We will sponsor a visa for the right candidate to join us.
What is Deducta? Deducta is a data intelligence platform for global enterprises. We deliver unprecedented clarity into mission-critical data for the world’s largest and most complex enterprises, starting with spend data. We are the leading edge for major business transformations. Our partners use Deducta to deliver results that matter, orders of magnitude faster.
What is the Role? We ingest massive datasets containing critical enterprise knowledge from multiple sources and formats, and create structure where there was none previously. Our system leverages state-of-the-art LLMs to solve this problem with unprecedented accuracy, at previously unthinkable scales. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the backbone of our platform as it grows.
What you’ll do:
- Architect, build, and maintain data ingestion and processing engines with the scale and reliability to manage mission critical operations for the largest companies in the world
- Build and maintain ultra-fast, high volume, well documented APIs to enable these systems
- Drive business growth through a combination of ideation and experimentation to optimize our product, and front-line problem solving for our customers
- Collaborate closely with technical and non-technical teammates to understand our customers' problems and build products that solve them
Success in this role means:
- Leading development efforts from idea inception to production
- Constantly driving improvements and new functionality
Who will be the right fit? We’re looking for a technically exceptional engineer who thrives with agency and ownership. You might be the right fit if you have:
- Solid experience with object oriented programming in cloud environments (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure), with .NET experience being a plus
- Experience with SOLID, domain driven design, and Clean Architecture principles
- A passion for good software craft, strong intuition for distinguishing good technical debt from bad, and sense for distinguishing good architectural choices from bad ones
- A demonstrated track record of delivering technical excellence to drive product and business impact
- A deep sense of care about your work and the people around you
You will thrive in our work environment if:
- You do well when given a high level of ownership over execution. We strive to set common and transparent priorities, provide full context, and give every team member the freedom to decide on the “how”
- You demonstrate unreasonable hospitality to prospects, clients, and teammates as a default
- You value candour, love feedback, and deliver it thoughtfully
- You are genuinely excited by the possibilities of applied AI, both as a technology to deploy and as a tool to enhance the developer workflow
- You are energized by the opportunity to build with a high performing team
As an early team member, you’ll be trusted and expected to actively contribute to the trajectory of our product and business. You’ll be part of a team of exceptional people building something category-defining.
