Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2026.

Role Overview

Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a Sessional Lecturer with expertise in Geography to lead the delivery of A-level Geography and potentially teach vocational programmes across the curriculum area including BTEC and NCFE qualifications at Levels 1, 2 and 3, such as Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Aviation and Cabin Crew, depending on the successful candidate's experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver A-level Geography and selected vocational courses
  • Design engaging coursework assignments that inspire learners
  • Implement agreed schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring procedures
  • Carry out assessment, internal quality assurance and standardisation activities in line with awarding body requirements
  • Support external quality assurance processes as required

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or professional qualification in Geography, Travel & Tourism, Tourism Management, Aviation Management or a closely related discipline
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work toward one)
  • Energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education
  • Excellent teaching skills and substantial relevant teaching experience on A-level, BTEC and/or NCFE programmes
  • Links to industry, external agencies and validating bodies with an awareness of academic quality standards
  • High personal standards and expectations; ability to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress
  • Good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills with a strong attention to detail
