South Thames College is working in partnership with a large sporting events company on this exciting new course, which will equip learners with the skills and knowledge required to build a rewarding career in the sector. The Level 4 HNC Sports Event Management course will include units across a range of areas, and we are keen to receive applications from lecturers with the following specialisms:
- Health
- Business/Accounts
- Sport
- Hospitality/Management
Where required, you will be a Course Leader for a cohort of learners within the curriculum area with responsibilities for managing individual learner progress including attendance and punctuality and contribution to compliance with the quality assurance cycle for the college to assure learner success. You will be able to work under strict deadlines and be a strong communicator, able to communicate effectively at all levels and use initiative to organise and prioritise.
As one of our sessional lecturers on this Level 4 HNC Sports Event Management, we would like you to have a successful record of teaching Level 4 HNC programmes and to have been involved with delivery of one or more of the specific units listed above. This Level 4 HNC Sports Event Management course will run from September 2026 to July 2027, with classes taking place over two full days per week, 9am‑5pm (excluding college holidays), face‑to‑face at our Wandsworth campus.
It is expected that there will be a team of sessional lecturers involved in the delivery of the range of units that this qualification consists of, meaning it will not be necessary for you to be available every week for two days. Once candidates have been appointed, we will discuss the two days per week which will work best for the team and agree a delivery timetable.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year. Closing date for the return of completed applications is 12th June 2026. Interviews will be held week commencing 15th June 2026.
There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme. The benefits package is pro-rated for part time staff.
