Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2026. At Kingston College, we are seeking a Lecturer to teach across a range of levels from Level 1 through to Degree level, with a focus on the T Level in Early Years and Childcare.

You will be responsible for the effective delivery and assessment of learners through practical sessions, online learning and work-based placements, while also supporting the development of their commercial awareness, employability and enterprise skills. You will ensure that all health and safety policies and placement requirements are adhered to at all times. This role combines teaching with personal tutoring across a range of programmes and will also include assessments in settings.

T levels are predominantly exam based and therefore we seek an innovative practitioner to design engaging assignments with practical work placements that inspire learners. You will also contribute to internal verification processes and participate in external verification activities.

With an industry background in Early Years and School Provisions (SEN experience is desirable) and a relevant degree or professional qualification, you will hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards). You will bring energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for education and your subject area. An assessor qualification such as CAVA or TAQA is required, along with an awareness of academic quality standards.

You will have excellent teaching skills and experience of delivering on higher education programmes, with the ability to support, motivate and empathise with learners while effectively monitoring their progress. Strong organisational and administrative skills are essential, together with good general IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year. Closing date for the return of completed applications is 13th May 2026.

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 40 days, plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees’ physical and mental health. This leave is all in addition to Bank Holiday entitlement. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme. The benefits package will be pro-rated for part time staff.

South Thames Colleges Group is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. As outlined in the Public Sector Equality Duty of the Equality Act 2010, we are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

As part of our due diligence checks on prospective employees, successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, an online search and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
