Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2026. The School for Vocational and Technical Studies (VTS) at South Thames College is looking to appoint an experienced Lecturer in Media Studies (Film) to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.
You’ll deliver teaching and assessment activities within your area of specialism including lectures, setting/marking coursework, practical activities and field work and play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development.
As our Lecturer, we’d like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in Media or a related field, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) and have recent teaching experience in Media in an FE College. You’ll have strong evidence of assessing, tracking and supporting student progress and a good understanding of current FE curriculum frameworks and quality standards.
With strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate diverse learners, you’ll be an effective communicator, able to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to curriculum development.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year. Closing date for the return of completed applications is 28th April 2026.
