Role Overview:
Lecturer to support students in the Foundation Learning area of the College by providing tutorial and pastoral care for learners with learning disabilities/difficulties and monitoring work experience activities.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver teaching and assessment activities within own area of specialism, including lectures, setting and marking coursework, practical activities and field work, and provide Maths and English to SEND at the appropriate level.
- Arrange, coordinate and supervise practical work, events and assessment projects as well as advise students on techniques.
- Possibly deliver personal care and administer medication.
- Eligible for any increase in salary due to the annual cost of living review implemented in the new academic year.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Hold or be willing to obtain a teaching qualification.
- Engaged in recent, relevant continuing professional development.
- Strong subject knowledge and current teaching experience in English, Maths and Employability skills.
- Understanding of inclusive learning strategies, progression pathways in further education and improving opportunities for learners with SEND.
- Experience of vocational curriculum development, including RARPA, entry level qualifications and Functional Skills.
- Ability to apply a range of strategies to meet individual learning needs and to motivate and guide individuals or teams towards agreed objectives.
- Experience designing and delivering a variety of vocational programmes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with students, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal, planning, organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
