£39,678 - £47,736 per annum, plus up to 53 days + Bank Holidays. Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to 1st September 2026.
About the Role
The School of Adult Education at South Thames College is looking for an inspiring and ambitious ESOL Lecturer who will deliver high‐quality ESOL provision to teenage and adult learners, supporting them in achieving their academic goals, building confidence in English and progressing successfully.
Responsibilities
- Deliver ESOL teaching across all levels for both adult and teenage learners.
- Act as an effective personal and academic tutor for learners aged 16‑18, providing structured pastoral support, aspiration‑raising activities and enrichment opportunities.
- Maintain and demonstrate meeting Awarding Organisation standards for teaching and student progress.
- Use digital technology effectively to enhance the learning experience.
- Provide a flexible and creative approach to problem‑solving, embracing new ideas and initiatives.
Qualifications
- A degree or relevant professional qualification in a suitable subject.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Excellent ESOL teaching skills across all levels.
- Proven track record as a personal tutor, supporting learners with pastoral needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
- High level of digital literacy.
