The School of Creative Industries at Kingston College is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Technician/Instructor in Media. You’ll support teaching and learning by assisting with classes, delivering your own practical timetabled session and demonstrations, while also providing technical guidance to students and staff.
You’ll support productions, conferences and events for the College and external groups, ensuring users can operate equipment safely and effectively while adhering to health and safety and security issues. You’ll be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and servicing equipment and facilities, as well as preparing materials to support teaching and learning activities. The role also includes carrying out minor repairs and helping to ensure that all technical equipment remains in good working order.
We’re looking for an individual with strong IT and AV skills, together with a solid working knowledge of machinery and equipment used in TV and sound studios, as well as editing facilities. You’ll have a sound technical understanding of media production environments and be confident in identifying and assessing risks and hazards within your specialist area. A collaborative team player, you’ll work effectively with both staff and students. You’ll be adaptable, flexible and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment undergoing change and development. You’ll also be able to perform well under pressure while meeting agreed deadlines.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year. Closing date for the return of completed applications is 28th June 2026.
