Raytheon UK is searching for a Release Practitioner to join our OMNIA® Training team. As Release Practitioner, you will be critical to the successful delivery of the programme, collaborating within a matrix organisation across multi-disciplinary teams. The Release Practitioner role requires a customer first mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering team in a complex and evolving environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage releases across Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training systems deployed within cloud‑hosted, containerised environments.
  • Manage release pipelines and deployment workflows supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
  • Coordinate releases across engineering, platform, and operations teams to ensure reliable deployment of containerised services and applications.
  • Ensure all releases comply with ITIL release and deployment management governance, including change approval and release documentation.
  • Oversee deployment activities to cloud platforms and container orchestration environments (e.g. Kubernetes/OpenShift).
  • Maintain version control and release traceability for software, infrastructure configurations, and training system components.
  • Work with configuration and change management teams to ensure releases align with approved changes and configuration baselines.
  • Support automated build, test, and deployment pipelines to ensure repeatable and reliable releases.
  • Coordinate release readiness activities including integration testing, system validation, and operational acceptance.
  • Support in Configuration Management, working closely with the Configuration Practitioner.
  • Conduct post‑release reviews and implement improvements to release automation and deployment processes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience managing problem management activities within complex IT or technical service environments.
  • Experience managing software releases within CI/CD driven environments.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL release and deployment management processes.
  • Experience supporting containerised application deployments using orchestration platforms (e.g. Kubernetes or OpenShift).
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Helm).
  • Experience managing releases into cloud or hybrid environments (e.g. Azure, AWS).
  • Understanding of container image management, versioning, and deployment strategies.
  • Experience coordinating releases across engineering, DevOps, and platform teams.
  • Strong organisational skills managing multiple releases across complex technical environments.
  • ITIL certification (Foundation or higher).

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience working within defence, government, or regulated service environments.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines delivering containerised microservices into Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift environments.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure‑as‑code or platform automation tools.
  • Experience supporting releases within modelling and simulation environments, particularly LVC training systems.
