At Dexory, we're developing advanced software powered by cutting-edge robots that are transforming the very face of global logistics. We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Human Resources Director with a minimum of 10 years’ HR leadership experience, ideally gained within high-growth start-up and scale-up environments. This individual will be a true full-stack HR leader, comfortable operating both strategically and operationally in complex, fast-paced organisations.
The successful candidate will have experience building and scaling People functions from the ground up, navigating ambiguity, and supporting international growth across multiple jurisdictions. This role will require the successful candidate to be onsite at our Wallingford site 3 days per week minimum.

Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a global People strategy aligned to business objectives and growth plans.
- Partner closely with the executive team to shape organisational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on organisational effectiveness, culture, leadership capability, and performance.
- Build scalable People infrastructure to support rapid growth and international expansion.
- HR Operations & Compliance (Full Stack)
- Oversee end-to-end HR operations including employee lifecycle, policies, benefits, payroll oversight, and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with UK and international employment law and regulatory requirements.
- Design and implement HR systems, processes, and governance frameworks that enable scale.
- Manage and optimise HR technology platforms and data reporting.
- Talent & Performance
- Develop performance management frameworks that drive accountability, ownership and high performance.
- Implement succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
- Embed robust onboarding and engagement strategies to support retention and growth.
- Overseeing high performance at all stages of the employee cycle, especially in probation cycles.
- Leading the implementation and change brought in by the employment rights bill.
- Supporting the Head of Talent in strategic global hiring planning.
- Culture & Employee Experience
- Champion a high-performance, ownership and inclusive as well as values led culture.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives and organisational health diagnostics.
- Manage complex employee relations matters with sound judgement and commercial awareness.
- Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy across regions.
- International & Complex Environments
- Support international workforce expansion including entity setup, EOR partnerships, and cross-border employment models.
- Navigate matrixed structures and geographically distributed teams.
- Lead change management initiatives across evolving organisational structures.
- Manage HR risk in multi-jurisdictional environments.
- Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing People and HR team.
- Develop capability within HR across specialist and generalist functions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the People function.
- Minimum 10 years’ progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in start-up and/or scale-up environments.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience building HR infrastructure in high-growth settings.
- Experience operating in complex, international, or multi-entity organisations.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law; international exposure strongly preferred.
- Experience managing organisational change and rapid growth.
- Commercially minded with strong business acumen.
- Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on.
- Experience working closely with founders and executive teams.
- Experience in technology, logistics, SaaS, or similarly fast-scaling sectors.
- Experience supporting funding rounds, M&A, or organisational restructuring.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent.
- Experience implementing or optimising HRIS systems.
- Strategic thinker with operational depth.
- Deep interest in doing the work and building high performance teams and systems.
- Resilient and adaptable in fast-moving environments.
- High emotional intelligence and strong stakeholder management skills.
- Data-driven with strong analytical capability.
