About Moneybox
Moneybox is the award-winning app that helps people turn their money into something greater. We’ve brought saving, investing, home‑buying, and retirement services into one simple app, making it easier than ever for our customers to achieve their goals and build wealth — whatever their starting point. We’re now investing in a step‑change in how Moneybox engages with policymakers, the media, and the public on the issues that shape our customers’ financial lives. This role is a key part of that ambition.
The role
You’ll help shape Moneybox’s voice across three connected areas: contributing to our positions on the policy issues that matter most to our customers (ISAs, LISAs, pensions, financial guidance), supporting our media and spokesperson activity, and producing financial education content that genuinely helps people make smarter money decisions. You’ll have meaningful ownership over specific projects, stakeholders, and content streams from day one — with senior colleagues to work alongside and learn from across Marketing, PR, Comms, and Product. It’s a great fit for someone with 7+ years of experience in personal finance, public affairs, financial journalism, or consumer‑facing financial communications who wants to build deep, hybrid expertise across all three.
Key responsibilities
- Public Affairs & Policy
- Help drive Moneybox’s presence in key financial policy discussions, consultations, and reviews (LISA, ISA, pensions, guidance reform).
- Build and manage relationships with policymakers, regulators, and industry bodies — including HMT, HMRC, FCA, the Chancellor’s Office, and parliamentary offices.
- Support the delivery of 2–3 flagship public affairs moments each year (roundtables, conferences, party conference activity).
- Contribute to Moneybox’s public affairs roadmap and help bring more capability in-house, reducing reliance on external agencies.
- Communications & Spokesperson Work
- Provide subject‑matter input to Moneybox spokespeople on personal finance and policy stories — and develop into a spokesperson role yourself over time.
- Support the press office with input, review, and sign‑off on media requests.
- Build and nurture journalist relationships through briefings, interviews, and media events.
- Help shape Moneybox’s voice on personal finance in line with our brand and compliance principles.
- Financial Education & Content
- Work with the Comms and Content teams to produce accurate, accessible content across our channels.
- Lead or contribute to webinars, video Q&A, and education campaigns that improve our customers’ financial confidence.
- Help establish a consistent "always‑on" rhythm of webinars and video engagement.
- Industry Engagement
- Represent Moneybox in trade associations and industry coalitions, owning relationships with key third parties.
- Act as our "industry radar" — flagging emerging trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activity.
- Attend key industry and political events to enhance Moneybox’s profile and insight.
- Oversee trade body membership administration and ensure we get value from our investment.
- Product & Strategy Support
- Provide subject‑matter expertise into product development.
- Support the company’s engagement with the FCA and other regulators on relevant initiatives.
- Help plan and deliver strategic research and "set‑piece" public affairs projects.
