We’re looking for a Principal Engineer - Cloud to set the technical direction for our Cloud Platform and SRE capabilities, shaping how compute, platforms and DevSecOps operate at scale. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who can influence across squads, drive strategy and roll up their sleeves when it matters. You’ll sit within our Cloud Platforms & SRE Chapter, providing technical leadership across Compute, Platform Enablement and DevSecOps squads. You’ll define and drive the technical vision for cloud platforms and compute services, working closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to shape roadmaps and long‑term strategy. Leading by example, you’ll take initiatives from proof‑of‑concept through to production, delivering highly available, secure and cost‑efficient solutions with security shifted left. You’ll also enable self‑service platforms that delight engineers and act as a trusted technical authority across multiple squads.

- Drive complex initiatives end‑to‑end with real customer impact
- Work closely with Architects and act as Product Owner when shaping roadmaps

- Embed best practices alongside other Principal Engineers
Innovation & Knowledge Sharing
- Champion responsible innovation and experimentation
- Share insights on emerging tools, trends and technologies
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong, trusted relationships across engineering and the wider business
Qualifications
- Deep expertise running containerised workloads at scale
- Strong understanding of cloud engineering workflows and platform self‑service
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code and peer code review
- Expert‑level knowledge of AWS or GCP (one required)
- Experience delivering enterprise‑scale solutions in complex environments
- Ability to lead, inspire and influence senior engineers and stakeholders
- Exceptional problem‑solving, communication and decision‑making skills
- A self‑starter mindset with comfort operating at high autonomy
