What is the role responsible for? This is a critical role that will oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and optimization of our critical Voice & IP Platform/Network infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring the platform's stability, performance, and scalability to support our business objectives. You will be reporting into the Head of Product & Voice Ops.
What will you be doing day-to-day? Here are a few examples of what you could be involved with:
- Oversee the overall health, performance, and availability of our Core Platform/Network infrastructure.
- Lead incident response and resolution, minimising downtime and impact on users.
- Continuously monitor and optimise platform performance through performance tuning and capacity adjustments.
- Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of Duty Managers & Lead Platform Engineers.
- Develop personal and team growth strategies for the NOC Engineering team.
- Oversee the integration of operational support functions into the broader NOC Engineering team.
- Work closely with development, engineering, and other teams to ensure platform alignment with business goals.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve service quality by enhancing current maintenance and troubleshooting processes.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, written, oral, and analytical skills.
- Be an excellent team player with a proactive mindset, with a passion for working together as a team to achieve goals.
What you’ll bring You don’t need experience in everything listed—but we’re especially keen to hear from people with some of the following skills:
- Previous experience managing a team that is responsible for managing & operating large scale telco/IP networks.
- Previous experience with being responsible for the planning, preparation and implementation of performing configuration changes across various components of Core Network Infrastructure i.e. SBC’s, Juniper Routers, Telco grade PBX systems etc.
- Experience with modern DevOps practices and tooling.
- Developed and implemented training and development plans for teams and individuals.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-moving and changeable environment.
- Must be a self-starter, proactive, highly organised, and capable of working well with individuals at all levels in the organisation.
