Digital assets in the UK are entering a more practical phase, moving beyond pilots towards real products, operating models and market infrastructure. That shift is creating important strategic choices for financial institutions across banking, markets, payments, wealth and asset management. It’s creating phenomenal market momentum and transformation potential. Within EY’s Financial Services Tech Consulting team, we’re looking to expand our team to help clients navigate this transition and turn momentum into tangible outcomes.

You will contribute to the delivery of high profile and complex tech engagements across a wide range of financial services clients.

The opportunity: You will be joining the EY FSO, Digital Engineering competency, which delivers comprehensive and holistic solutions across banking, capital markets, insurance and wealth and asset management institutions globally. The role is based in London with opportunity for hybrid work.

As a Manager focused on Digital Custody and Tokenisation, you will play a hands‑on role in shaping, delivering, and scaling digital asset custody solutions, working at the intersection DLT, digital money, and market infrastructure.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Technology Enablement: Support design of custody architectures leveraging MPC/HSM key management, secure wallet infrastructure, and role‑based controls. Develop high‑quality production ready solutions for banks and asset managers. Integrate third‑party platforms, enabling straight‑through processing from order to settlement.
  • Product & Use Case Development: Conduct market research and support business cases for digital custody, tokenised funds, and digital cash initiatives. Define client use cases spanning custody of digital native assets, tokenised MMFs, and tokenised cash instruments. Translate business and regulatory requirements into product requirements, target operating models, and phased delivery roadmaps.
  • Delivery & Execution Leadership: Lead end‑to‑end delivery of digital custody solutions across multi‑disciplinary teams (engineering, operations, risk, legal, compliance). Oversee complex workflows including onboarding, custody, settlement, corporate actions, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting. Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and audit‑ready, aligned to internal risk frameworks and regulatory expectations.
  • Stakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement: Act as primary day‑to‑day contact for senior client stakeholders, translating technical complexity into clear executive‑level narratives. Work closely with product, engineering, operations, and control functions to deliver end‑to‑end custody capabilities. Support senior leaders in external engagements with industry consortia, fintech vendors, and ecosystem partners.

Skills and attributes for success:

You will bring a passion for delivering an exceptional client service experience. You have a collaborative mind‑set. You will be outcome focused, but also intellectually curious with a creative approach to problem solving. You have excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills and a track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders. You bring strong analytical skills and are confident in tackling new topics.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • ~8–12 years’ experience in financial services, including asset servicing, custody, capital markets, trading, payments, or operations.
  • Strong understanding of crypto, digital assets, DLT, and how these technologies impact custody and operating models.
  • Hand‑on experience with some of the wallet infrastructure like Fireblocks, Metaco, Taurus, BitGo, etc.
  • Familiarity with institutional custody solutions.
  • Awareness of key regulatory and market trends affecting digital custody and tokenised assets.
  • Demonstrated experience in technology and product delivery, working across cross‑functional teams.
  • Practical exposure to asset servicing, post‑trade, settlement, or custody‑related workflows.
  • Delivery of custody solutions for tokenised funds or digital native assets on public or permissioned blockchains, including MPC/HSM key management and atomic DvP.
  • Bridging legacy custody and cash systems with tokenised assets, including ISO 20022 / SWIFT event orchestration and reconciliation for hybrid flows.
  • Implementation of digital cash settlement solutions for deposit tokens, stablecoins, or CBDCs in regulated environments.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • A good range of influencing skills.
  • A constructive and action‑oriented approach.
  • A self‑starting attitude with the ability to think and act quickly.
  • Experience working in a client facing professional services environment.
  • An ability to guide and coach team members to help them develop their EY careers.
  • Experience of operating in a project‑based environment.
