The role of a Power Platform Product Owner involves overseeing the strategic direction, governance, and management of low code applications utilising Microsoft technologies at Heathrow. The Product Owner will be leading the Power Platform Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Heathrow and will be responsible for:
- Setting the strategic direction for low code application development utilising Power Platform, Copilot Studio and other Microsoft Technologies.
- Leading the delivery and ongoing management of hundreds of business-unit specific and enterprise-wide applications.
- Enabling best-in-class practices for the in-house development team and supplier development squads.
- Supporting the wider community of makers building personal productivity apps.
This is a leadership role in Heathrow IT Products – Corporate and Digital Workplace team requiring excellent stakeholder management skills, experience in managing diverse in-house and supplier-side teams, deep technical expertise and seasoned influencing abilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Power Platform or Dynamic 365 Product Owner to lead the Power Platform CoE at one of the busiest airports in the world.
Responsibilities:
- Setting the strategic direction for low code application development utilising Power Platform, Copilot Studio and other Microsoft Technologies to support Heathrow’s Digital Future beacon.
- Engaging with stakeholders including senior management (up to departmental director level) to set the strategic direction for digitising, digitalising and automating processes and accurately translate the vision into product roadmaps.
- Leading a multidisciplinary in-house team (currently 9-member strong and growing) by fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive culture that values growth through mentoring, training, and professional certifications.
- Shaping requirements for Power Platform based solutions (primarily Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio) whilst ensuring alignment with business and technology strategy.
- Managing the backlog to deliver high-quality, scalable & secure solutions whilst balancing competing priorities and business, IT, and customer/colleague needs.
- Facilitating collaboration with globally distributed teams (in-house and from suppliers) and wider IT to ensure product features meet stakeholder expectations and deliver measurable impact.
- Maintaining supplier & partner relationships including managing contracts and budgets with support from IT Business Partner and Procurement teams.
Qualifications:
- Excellent people management, influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in managing stakeholders in a large organisation up to Director level.
- Experience of working in a matrixed organisation including working in an integrated team involving supplier partnering organisations.
- Experience mentoring a multi-disciplinary team of developers, technical leads, platform administrators, designers and business analysts.
- Experience in technology development, product management or business systems analysis with the proven ability to simplify complexity.
- Strong experience with systems and software delivered and operated within an enterprise environment.
- Functional and technical knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio etc.), Microsoft Azure Eco-System (Azure SQL, Blob Storage etc.).
- Understanding of canvas & model-driven apps, Dataverse and SPO and relevant best practice approaches.
- Understanding of deployment procedures, including solution-based deployment.
