Leonardo are looking to employ a Field Service Representative (FSR) specialising in the Praetorian DASS systems fitted to Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft. Contracted place of work will be RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire, although temporary working at other locations in the UK and overseas will be required.
You’ll provide support for the fleet of Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force. This support will include the following key activities:
- Providing diagnostic support and advice for Typhoon customers seeking SME assistance with Praetorian systems.
- Embarking on modifications and upgrades to Praetorian ESM-ECM and MAW systems.
- Engaging with customer representatives to ensure that system configuration and availability requirements are understood and delivered as far as is practicable, and that risks and limitations are discussed where appropriate.
- Monitoring system performance during see‑off for trial sorties.
- Supporting aircrew debriefs and post‑sortie data analysis.
- Ensuring equipment issues are mitigated or escalated as appropriate.
- Creating, developing and maintaining good working relationships with key project partners.
When not committed to development, modification and operational support tasks in the UK or overseas, the FSR may be expected to provide support to normal flying activities alongside FSRs operating under TyTAN JAS. These activities may include:
- Providing LRI diagnostic information and on‑ac performance history to the Leonardo Part 145 off‑aircraft environment.
- Supporting the Typhoon Part M environment.
- Analysis of data to support initiatives to reduce the number of No Fault Founds (NFFs) at ML2 and ML4.
- Supporting Leonardo back‑office functions.
- Supporting non‑UK Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft/customers in the UK and overseas.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provision of advice, guidance and engineering support to customer ML1 and ML2 personnel.
- Liaison with the customer and other agencies, in order to understand and meet operational priorities.
- Adherence to all contractual and local requirements associated with governance, SHE, training and general engineering practices.
- Adherence to documented methods of work as defined by Leonardo, BAE Systems, the UK MoD or other regulatory organisation as applicable.
- Support the generation of approved documentation and procedures.
- Identification and mitigation of risks that could affect contractual obligations.
- Identification of opportunities Leonardo might use to enhance their business.
Skills, Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Highly desirable: Current or recent Eurofighter Typhoon Avionics on‑aircraft experience.
- Experience of working with aircraft and/or in an aircraft maintenance environment.
- Knowledge of airworthiness management requirements.
- Experience of Praetorian DASS.
- Extant SC or DV clearance.
- Desirable: HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
- F‑GAS 1 or C&G 2079.
- Experience working at offsite locations, i.e. away from back‑office/main site support.

Intrinsic Factors:
- This role will at times require the FSR to be the sole Leonardo representative on site. Being able to work remotely and independently is essential.
- A full UK driving licence (Category B) is essential for this role.
- Achieving DV clearance will be essential for this role.
- The selected individual will be required to deploy under CONDO conditions, iaw Def Stan 05‑129. This will require a level of medical fitness, and the individual will be required to agree to be designated as a civilian subject to Service Discipline under the Armed Forces Act, for the duration of these deployments.

This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
