Automation Tester in Leeds

Location: Leeds, hybrid – You will be required to go onto the Leeds office 1-2 days per week, travel to other sites will also be a necessity. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design and build reusable automated test solutions that support continuous product evolution.
• Collaborate with developers to shape clean, testable code from the outset.
• Partner with platform engineers to integrate testing into modern Continuous Delivery pipelines.
• Analyse requirements and create meaningful, high-impact test cases (functional, performance, and security).
• Contribute to shared learning by reviewing test artefacts and supporting peers.
• Investigate and overcome challenges to deliver quality outcomes on time—without compromising standards.
• Take ownership of test results—refining and improving test suites as products evolve.
• Advocate for quality by ensuring appropriate unit and integration testing coverage.
• Use exploratory testing techniques when needed to uncover deeper insights.
• Clearly communicate how features are tested, building shared understanding across engineering teams.

Your skills and experiences:

• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g. Selenium, Cucumber).
• Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g. REST Assured).
• Experience testing user interfaces and large datasets.
• Working knowledge of Java and SQL.

Other Desirable Skills:

• Collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub.
• Exposure to BDD / TDD practices.
• Awareness of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
• Experience or interest in AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Postgres.
