The Delivery Manager – Engineering ensures the effective delivery of all technical and operational training across Heathrow’s Engineering teams, overseeing planning, scheduling and quality assurance. Leading a team, the role drives high performance, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and manages partnerships with internal stakeholders and external providers. The postholder monitors training outcomes, mitigates risks, and maintains training facilities, ensuring colleagues are fully competent to support a safe and compliant airport environment.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the delivery of all technical and operational training across Heathrow Engineering, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Manage and assure performance of third-party training providers, including contracts and quality standards.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to forecast training needs and align delivery with operational priorities.
- Monitor, analyse and report on training performance, proactively managing risks and compliance gaps.
- Lead, coach and manage a team of delivery and/or learning operations specialists through effective performance management.
- Ensure training facilities, equipment and resources are well maintained and fit for purpose.
- Drive continuous improvement in training delivery, content and learner experience.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing training delivery within a regulated or safety-critical environment, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Strong knowledge of fire, health and safety legislation, with the ability to monitor, analyse and act on compliance data.
- Experience managing third-party training providers, including contracts, performance and quality assurance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence across operational and specialist teams.
- Strong organisational, planning and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Professional Qualification in the area of technical training delivery (eg FHS / Eng / Sec etc)
- Professional qualification in training delivery (L3AET etc)
- Professional Quality Assurance qualification
