Job Family Platform Engineering Job Profile Title Lead Platform Engineer Management Level Consultant Job Profile Description As a Lead Platform Engineer (Consultant) in Kainos, you’ll be responsible for leading teams to design, automate, build, manage and optimise modern digital service platforms.
It’s a fast‑paced environment and you’ll be trusted to make sound, reasoned decisions.
You’ll do this whilst learning about new technologies and approaches, with colleagues that will help you to learn, develop and grow.
As the technical leader in the team, you will also interact with customers, share knowledge and mentor those around you.
Key Responsibilities Working as part of a team – You’ll work alongside colleagues in engineering, testing, consulting, product management and security capabilities to build, test and deploy software of the highest quality; including the operation and continuous improvement of underlying platform services.
Using technology for positive impact – You’ll ensure the latest technologies are employed appropriately and aligned with industry best practices for maximum user and business benefit.
Share your knowledge – As a respected technologist within Kainos, you’ll begin broadcasting your opinions.
You’ll be supported to actively share knowledge both internally through communities of practice and more widely in industry.
Becoming a Role Model – You’ll support your colleagues and foster a Dev Ops culture in all that you do by embodying the Kainos values.

Providing Technical Leadership – You’ll provide direction and leadership for your team as you solve challenging problems together on delivery and support projects.
Putting people first using the latest Continuous Delivery and automation techniques for releasing operationally ready software to production, including platform orchestration through the use of multiple configuration management tools.
Demonstrable experience in building and/or supporting modern digital service platforms to include architecture, design, estimation, planning and iteration on MVP using a modern agile approach; championing best practice use of Site Reliability Engineering tooling, techniques and processes to manage and improve existing platform services; use of a public cloud platform(s) including Saa S or Paa S offerings (AWS or Azure) to solve business problems.
Desirable Obtained certification with a public cloud provider (AWS/Azure).
Obtained certification relating to a particular area of specialisation e. g.
Kubernetes CKAD.
