What you will do

  • Support the Head of Audit to develop and execute the risk based Transformation and Change Audit Plan to provide assurance to the Audit Committee and Board on programme delivery risks and report findings in a timely manner.

This involves

  • Contributing to high level IA planning and prioritisation through an understanding of the Bank's major transformation programmes, change portfolios and strategic initiatives
  • Determining the risks and key controls in scope and developing the test plan, including use of a range of audit techniques, from observation and interviews through to data analytics and AI tools
  • Delivery of the audit work, using continuous monitoring, inflight reviews and standard audits as appropriate
  • Consideration of detailed and sometimes complex audit findings, taking a balanced view of the impact and determining the root cause
  • Preparing and presenting reports that reflect the audit results with actionable recommendations
  • Maintaining strong standards of documentation, supporting audit conclusions in compliance with GIAS requirements, the IA Charter, and IA methodology
  • Coordinating and overseeing IA colleagues and co-sourced partner resources working on the audit
  • Follow up management actions and ensure that they have been implemented and the risk addressed
  • Build strong relationships with relevant senior stakeholders across the Bank and attend key committees
  • Maintain awareness of other assurance activities in 1LOD/2LOD and within internal audit, and how this impacts own work
  • Maintain awareness of emerging risks, regulatory developments and industry practices relating to transformation and change, adapting audit focus when required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in IA practices, e. g., use of AI tools
  • Any other duties as required that reasonably fall within the job.

What you will need

  • Strong understanding of change and transformation risk frameworks within financial services, including programme governance and delivery models.
  • Experience assessing programme and project management methodologies, with a focus on identifying delivery risks, evaluating governance arrangements, and providing assurance over key controls across the change lifecycle.
  • Awareness of regulatory expectations relating to outsourcing and change risk management.
  • Experience of assurance over controls and compliance by design.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e. g IIA qualification and / or specialist qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP, Agile PM, SAFe qualifications or CISA).
  • Proven experience in auditing or overseeing large scale transformation or change programmes, including governance and delivery risk.
