CGI’s Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit focuses primarily on delivering contemporary and innovative technical solutions for government agencies solving some of the most challenging problems. We work, build, and operate bespoke, technically complex, mission-critical systems that help keep the nation safe and secure.

We are currently looking for experienced infrastructure engineers to join our cross‑functional teams who, in partnership with clients, will help define, guide, and assure the delivery of integrated solutions. This role offers fantastic opportunities to work in a highly rewarding and technically challenging environment. Although we would prefer candidates with all required skills, we would consider high‑quality individuals who meet most of the criteria. Due to the secure nature of this project, candidates must either already hold or be eligible to obtain a high level of UK Security Clearance. Applicants must be sole British nationals, have been resident in the UK for the past 10 years, and must not have spent more than 28 consecutive days outside the UK within the last five years. This role is primarily based on a secure client site and requires attendance on site five days per week. Some flexibility may be available depending on business and security requirements.

Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage complex network architectures, including LAN, WAN, and cloud‑based systems
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise resources to ensure high availability and security
  • Configure and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs in line with security policies
  • Oversee storage solutions including SAN, NAS, and backup systems
  • Ensure data integrity, availability, and security through backups and disaster recovery planning
  • Manage storage policies, quotas, and replication for efficient data management
  • Install and maintain Windows Server environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Perform patch management, software updates, and system upgrades
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in line with security policies

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • Proven experience in one or more areas of infrastructure management (network, storage, or Windows Server)
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and a creative approach to complex technical challenges
