You’ll lead the design, build, and ongoing evolution of a next‑generation private cloud built on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9), enabling secure, resilient, and high‑performance workloads for both internal teams and external customers. Your work will directly underpin services that matter—supporting critical national infrastructure and revenue‑generating customer platforms—making a tangible impact on reliability, availability, and the speed at which new services can be delivered.
From day one, you’ll influence platform stability, drive service excellence, and enable seamless onboarding of customer workloads in a high‑stakes, high‑impact environment. This job role can be based in Ipswich, London, Cheltenham or Manchester. Due to security requirements, this role requires you to be located on site during your working hours. Mon‑Fri 37.5. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Architecting and delivering next‑generation private cloud platforms using VMware Cloud Foundation
- Driving automation‑first infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell)
- Solving complex platform challenges across compute, storage, and networking
- Collaborating with engineers, architects, and operations teams to deliver seamless, end‑to‑end services
- Enhancing platform security, resilience, and performance at scale
