Due to the secure nature of this role, candidates must hold or be willing to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) to SC and/or DV level. Individuals without clearance are still encouraged to apply and will be considered for this and other opportunities within CGI.

This role is based in either Manchester or Gloucester.

Your Future Duties and Responsibilities

We are looking for experienced Software Engineers who are passionate about working with modern and bespoke technologies to deliver solutions that help keep the country safe. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to understand requirements, design solutions, and deliver systems engineered for performance, security, reliability, and scalability. Development will be supported by modern CI/CD practices and agile delivery methods.

Required Qualifications to Be Successful in This Role

  • Containerisation and container security
  • Microservice architectures
  • API development (REST, Swagger, OpenAPI, gRPC)
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) including services such as Lambda, API Gateway, EKS
  • Cloud-native applications and Kubernetes (OpenShift, MicroK8s, etc.)
  • Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack, Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Programming languages and frameworks: NodeJS, React/Material UI, Angular, Python, JavaScript, Java (Spring Boot)
  • Messaging and event-driven systems (e.g. RabbitMQ, AMQP)
  • Big data technologies (Apache Spark, Hadoop)
  • Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu)
  • Open-source technologies and tooling
