Project Analyst Function: Programme Management

Location: Barnwood, Gloucester – hybrid working

Security Clearance Required: SC – Currently SC Cleared.

Duration: Full time permanent

Hours: 37 hrs per week

In this role you’ll play a key part in the PMO function providing financial assurance and enabling Project and Programme Managers to make key business decisions. Key duties include:

• Approving expenses, ensuring accurate, timely client billing and performing variance analysis to prevent cost overruns.
• Assisting with forecasting and tracking profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborating with Finance, Commercial and Senior Leaders.
• Supporting the delivery of projects and playing an influential role within a collaborative culture for project success.

Skills and Experience

• Excellent organisation skills and time management.
• Strong understanding of budgets, forecasting and cost control.
• Thrives in fast‑paced environments with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, reports and deadlines and support changing priorities.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy and completeness in reports and records.
• Confident communicator who can interact with stakeholders at all levels, from project team members to senior executives.
• Ability to explain financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Finance certification desirable but not essential.
• Eligible for achieving SC security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Budget and cost control through weekly monitoring of labour/expenses to ensure correct time bookings and carry out variance to forecast analysis.
• Document and records management via maintaining accurate, up‑to‑date documentation such as client forecast trackers.
• Financial reporting by assisting the Project Managers with quarterly EACs and validating CIP balances.
• Support new business opportunities through financial modelling.
• Invoicing and billing of monthly approval of client billing for all costs/expenses hitting specific projects.
• Submit forecasts to clients in line with deadlines.
