Role & Responsibilities

Work as a Principal Platform Engineer, deploying applications and software to cloud or on‑prem environments for our many business areas.

Hybrid working (minimum 3 days a week onsite) is required.

All candidates must be willing and eligible to attain SC and e DV clearance.

  • Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure
  • Understand the needs of project stakeholders
  • Automate and improve development and release processes
  • Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats
  • Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions
  • Work with other engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Required Experience
  • Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/Dev Ops delivery model
  • Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
  • Infrastructure as code e. g. Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible
  • Experience in building and deploying large‑scale applications
  • Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines
  • Container platform and orchestration systems ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker
  • Experience in automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents
  • Experience in scripting languages and source control
