Why we need this role
This role will be responsible for building and delivering programmes across graduates, apprentices, interns, and emerging technical talent, ensuring we attract, develop, and retain the next generation of talent across our key markets. You will act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across HR, Talent Acquisition, and the business, while leading the end-to-end early careers lifecycle, from attraction through to development.

Key responsibilities:
- Strategy & Programme Design
- Develop a global early‑careers strategy aligned to workforce and growth plans.
- Build structured programmes for graduates, apprentices, interns, and emerging technical talent.
- Define talent pipelines for critical skills areas.
- Embed DEI principles into programme design and selection.
- Provide insight on early‑talent trends and market developments.
- Talent Development & Programme Management
- Lead the design and delivery of development pathways and early career programmes.
- Create frameworks for capability building and progression.
- Partner with L&D, HRBPs and the business to deliver learning.
- Support engagement initiatives to support retention.
- Onboarding & Early Experience
- Own the onboarding experience for all early‑career cohorts.
- Develop tailored induction and integration programmes.
- Partner with HR and People Operations to ensure a seamless journey from offer to full integration.
- Attraction & Partnerships (with TA)
- Support TA to shape attraction strategies and employer branding.
- Build and manage partnerships with universities, colleges, and training providers.
- Represent Colt DCS at early‑talent events and industry forums.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the central contact for early‑careers across HR and business leaders.
- Work with hiring managers to forecast future skills needs and suitable roles.
- Influence senior stakeholders on early‑talent investment and workforce planning.
- Operational Excellence & Data
- Set and track KPIs across development, engagement, retention, and diversity.
- Use data and feedback to improve programme effectiveness.
- Implement scalable processes, tools, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance and global consistency.
Skills Required:
- Proven experience in Early Careers / Graduate / Emerging Talent Development programmes
- Experience building or delivering programmes in complex or scaling organisations
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level
- Experience in engineering, infrastructure, or technical hiring environments is highly desirable
- Hands‑on approach
- Data‑driven mindset with a focus on outcomes and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
