Solutions Architect
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £63-79K (up to 15% bonus, private healthcare & 15% pension). Hybrid working (2-3 days per week), Permanent
What you’ll be doing
Translate customer requirements into scalable, practical and commercially viable technical solutions. Own end‑to‑end design, ensure solutions align with standards, leverage existing services. Act as trusted technical authority, build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, guide towards successful outcomes.
Provide technical leadership and vision, balancing best practice with pragmatic delivery. Create high‑level designs, develop statements of work, and oversee implementation for quality, consistency and sustainability.
Collaborate closely with third‑party vendors, internal delivery and operations teams, and wider business functions to support telecoms capabilities. Play active role in strategy, contract lifecycle management and development of design methodologies, standards and processes.
What you’ll bring
Strong technical background in electrical, electronic or telecoms engineering (or equivalent experience). Understanding of telecoms and critical national infrastructure environments. Hands‑on experience with IP networking, MPLS, SDH/PDH, fibre, microwave, copper and radio, network synchronisation, DC power systems, and unified communications platforms.
Excellent communicator capable of influencing, presenting and building credibility at all levels. Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset, able to work under pressure while delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective designs. Grasp of industry frameworks such as ITIL or eTOM and willingness to learn.
